Privacy Policy
Personal Data
We collect, process, and use your personal data only with your consent or authorization for the agreed purposes, or when another legal basis in accordance with the GDPR exists; this is done in compliance with data protection and civil law provisions.
Only personal data necessary for the execution and processing of our services, or data you have voluntarily provided to us, will be collected.
Personal data includes all information about personal or factual circumstances, such as name, address, email address, telephone number, date of birth, age, gender, social security number, video recordings, photos, voice recordings of individuals, as well as biometric data such as fingerprints.
Spotify Connection and Data Access
MusicMatch uses the Spotify Web API to display and play music content. When you log in with your Spotify account, you grant MusicMatch access to certain data from your Spotify profile, including:
- Your email address
- Your username and profile picture
- Your saved playlists and their contents
- Your recently played tracks and top artists
- Streaming access to play music via the Spotify Web Player API
We temporarily store your Spotify access tokens in your browser session to ensure the functionality of the app. These are not permanently stored and expire after you log out or when the session ends.
Information and Deletion Rights
As a customer or generally as a data subject, you have the right at any time to information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of data processing, as well as the right to correction, data portability, objection, restriction of processing, and blocking or deletion of incorrect or unlawfully processed data.
If there are changes to your personal data, we request appropriate notification.
You have the right at any time to withdraw any consent given for the use of your personal data. Your request for information, deletion, correction, objection, and/or data transfer (in the latter case, provided this does not cause disproportionate effort) can be directed to the address indicated in section 11 of this declaration.
If you believe that the processing of your personal data by us violates applicable data protection law or that your data protection rights have been violated in any other way, you have the option to contact the appropriate supervisory authority.
Data Security
The protection of your personal data is ensured through appropriate organizational and technical precautions. These precautions particularly concern protection against unauthorized, unlawful, or accidental access, processing, loss, use, and manipulation.
Despite efforts to maintain a consistently high level of due diligence requirements, it cannot be ruled out that information you provide to us via the internet may be viewed and used by other persons.
Please note that we therefore assume no liability whatsoever for the disclosure of information due to errors in data transmission not caused by us and/or unauthorized access by third parties (e.g., hacking of email accounts or phones, interception of faxes).
Use of Data
We will not use the data provided to us for purposes other than those covered by your order or your consent, or by a provision in accordance with the GDPR. Excluded from this is the use for statistical purposes, provided that the data provided has been anonymized.
Transfer of Data to Third Parties
In order to fulfill your order, it may be necessary to forward your data to third parties (e.g., content delivery network, software procurement, etc.). Your data will only be forwarded on the basis of the GDPR, especially for the fulfillment of your order or based on your prior consent.
Some of the aforementioned recipients of your personal data are located outside your country or process your personal data there. The level of data protection in other countries may not always correspond to that of Austria. However, we only transfer your personal data to countries for which the EU Commission has decided that they have an adequate level of data protection.
Notification of Data Breaches
We strive to ensure that data breaches are detected early and, if necessary, immediately reported to you or the responsible supervisory authority, including the respective data categories affected.
Data Retention
We will not retain data longer than necessary to fulfill our contractual or legal obligations and to defend against any potential liability claims.
