Dear Emma and fellow visitors – welcome to Vienna!
The heart of Austria, where imperial
history meets vibrant modern life,
and every street whispers stories of art, music, and
tradition.
The Imperial Heart of Europe
Vienna truly is a city defined by its dual identity of imperial history and enduring culture. This Austrian capital is home to the world's oldest operating zoo (Tiergarten Schönbrunn, established 1752) and hosts over 450 annual balls, rightfully earning its title as the Ball Capital of the World. Furthermore, the city’s cherished Coffee House Culture (Wiener Kaffeehauskultur) is recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. Surprisingly, the humble snow globe was invented right here in 1900. Vienna is also a crucial site in musical history, being the city where Mozart composed his final works.
