Terragroup Appears

Terragroup, a massive international biotech and industrial conglomerate, begins aggressive expansion into the Norvinsk region—an economic zone between Russia and Europe created to encourage foreign investment.

Underneath the public façade, Terragroup secretly runs black-budget research, shady logistics operations, and illegal experiments protected through layers of shell companies.

Local authorities, politicians, and security forces become corrupted or bought out. Intelligence agencies across the world start suspecting Terragroup of violating international law—biotech regulations, arms deals, human trafficking, and covert military development.

When investigations intensify, Terragroup allegedly destroys or extracts evidence and pulls back its executives. The company's private military arm, Terra Security, disappears from the city overnight. Their exit leaves Norvinsk destabilized and full of unanswered questions.

PMC War

To cover their tracks and secure remaining assets, Terragroup hires USEC, a Western-based PMC, to protect their facilities and eliminate evidence. In response, Russian authorities contract BEAR, a government-aligned PMC, to investigate Terragroup and counter USEC's actions. The conflict escalates:

USEC focuses on sabotage, wiping data, and extracting Terragroup personnel.

BEAR conducts raids to seize documents and expose Terragroup's crimes.

Local civilians form gangs, marauders, and bandit groups, eventually known as Scavs.

The city collapses into lawlessness as both PMCs operate openly in the streets. Infrastructure fails, communications fall apart, and Norvinsk becomes a sealed no-go zone under quarantine while the international community debates what happened.

Escape from Tarkov

With the region cut off from the outside world, surviving PMCs, civilians, criminals, and deserters fight for resources and a way out.

USEC and BEAR operatives scavenge abandoned districts, battling each other and increasingly hostile Scav factions. Rogues, Raiders, Bloodhounds, and other elite or chaotic groups emerge as the power vacuum grows.

Each faction seeks different goals:

USEC: Escape and protect remaining Terragroup secrets.

BEAR: Gather proof of Terragroup's wrongdoing and survive until extraction.

Scavs: Take advantage of the anarchy to claim territory and loot.

Others (UN, Russia, underground syndicates): Quietly maneuver for influence over the region.

The player, depending on faction, is a survivor trying to secure gear, uncover pieces of the truth, forge alliances, and eventually break through the blockades to literally 'Escape from Tarkov'.
