Schizophrenia

Why "Average Schizophrenia"?

On October 18th, 2024, I, Lukas Bijelic (hi there đź‘‹), had a session with the MMT and MMA group on concept development. One of the tasks we were given involved coming up with three ideas under the following conditions:

  1. Generate three random band names using this website.
  2. Assign each of those band names to a form of media—like a website, game, or film.
  3. Work in groups of five.
  4. Write descriptions for the ideas of the other four members.

One of the band names that caught my eye was "Average Schizophrenia." I thought to myself, "What would be the most challenging or unconventional media format for this name?" And, well, you can guess where this led.

The idea of creating a website that messes with the user's perception—featuring disappearing and reappearing text, shifting images, and faint voices—was just too tempting to resist.

What to expect

Prepare for a weird journey where unexpected elements interact with you, providing either useless or useful information (it's up to you to decide which is which!). Hidden in all this chaos, there might be a story waiting to be discovered—if you can find it.

I recommend exploring this site on a PC or laptop, but hey, the choice is yours!

Not a fan of unexpected elements or you just want to see what effects you can expect: Don't worry I WE got you

What is Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a mental illness that distorts perception, affecting one's thinking, emotions, and behavior.

The term comes from Latin and means "split mind," but don’t be misled—this doesn’t refer to split or multiple personalities. Instead, it signifies a "split from reality."

Schizophrenia is relatively rare, affecting both men and women equally. However, the risk increases if a family member has the disorder. It tends to manifest at different ages for men and women: men often begin to show symptoms in their late teens to early twenties, while women typically experience onset in their late twenties to early thirties.
